Guest Coach

Simon Williams

Simon trained at the Royal Ballet Lower School and Upper School before joining English National Ballet in 1997, where he performed extensively in the classical repertoire, appearing in many of the company’s major productions.

He later joined New Adventures, where he performed in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, returning to the production to dance the leading roles of The Swan and The Prince. His work with the company marked the beginning of a wide ranging career spanning classical ballet, contemporary dance and narrative theatre.

His distinguished career has included international performances with the Michael Clark Company, appearances with Mikhail Baryshnikov at the Barbican Centre, and touring internationally with Sylvie Guillem. He has also worked across film, theatre and television, with credits including Billy Elliot, Kinky Boots and World War Z, as well as collaborations with leading choreographers such as Christopher Hampson, William Tuckett and Rob Ashford.

Simon continues to work internationally as a performer, teacher and creative collaborator, and brings to his coaching a rare combination of strong classical training, theatrical understanding, and highly expressive, musical movement quality.
