Adult Spring Intensive: Swan Lake
Sunday 17 May 2026
10:30 am - 3:30 pm
Royal Ballet & Opera, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9DD
£130.00
Join us for our first Adult Repertoire Intensive, a day celebrating one of ballet’s most iconic and emotionally charged masterpieces.
The day begins with a classical ballet class, designed to awaken strength, artistry and musical precision, before moving into a repertoire session exploring the traditional classical choreography and poetic beauty of Swan Lake.
After a well deserved repose, the afternoon session will develop the themes of Swan Lake further through a lyrical contemporary workshop inspired by modern narrative ballet. This session will remain rooted in classical technique, focusing on fluidity, épaulement, musical phrasing and expressive quality, offering dancers the opportunity to explore the emotional world of the ballet through more expansive movement while still feeling familiar to those with a classical background.
The day will be led by our Director, Damien Lee Stirk [biography], character actor with The Royal Ballet, and accompanied by live piano throughout, creating a rich and immersive studio experience in the heart of Covent Garden.
In the afternoon session we are delighted to welcome guest coach Simon Williams [biography]

The Ballet Technical: June Edition
Sunday 21 June 2026
11:00 am - 1:30 pm
Royal Ballet & Opera, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9DD
£75.00
Join us for The Ballet Technical: June Edition, our final technical workshop before the start of the new season, offering dancers a welcoming opportunity to revisit fundamentals and build confidence within a supportive professional studio setting.
This edition will take place in the beautiful Ashton Studio at the Royal Ballet & Opera, an inspiring yet approachable environment that encourages focused work while remaining accessible to dancers who may feel cautious about returning to technique based training. As our final technical session before the new season begins, this workshop is designed to help dancers reconnect with their foundations, refine essential principles and leave feeling encouraged, energised and prepared for continued progress.
The workshop will begin with a thoughtfully paced barre, designed to support placement, coordination and musical awareness without feeling overwhelming. Clear guidance and demonstration will allow dancers to work at their own pace, with emphasis placed on understanding movement, improving alignment and developing confidence through repetition and careful attention to detail.
Following a short break, the session will continue into centre practice, gradually progressing into enchaînements that allow dancers to apply their work in a supportive and structured way. The aim is to provide both reassurance and challenge, offering dancers the opportunity to grow technically while maintaining an enjoyable and encouraging atmosphere.
The session will be led by our Director, Damien Lee Stirk [biography], former character artist with The Royal Ballet, whose teaching focuses on clarity, encouragement and creating a positive learning environment where dancers feel comfortable to explore and improve.
