The Ballet Technical returns to the Royal Ballet and Opera in February 2026, offering a focused opportunity to refine technique, strengthen foundations and reconnect with your practice in the heart of Covent Garden.
This immersive session is crafted to offer exceptional attention, clarity and artistic detail, giving dancers the space to work with precision, confidence and a sense of occasion from the moment they step inside this legendary and iconic setting.
Designed for dancers aged 18 and above, the session places emphasis on clean classical work, progressing from a focused barre into centre practice and culminating in bespoke enchaînements shaped directly from the material explored throughout the class.
The workshop is led by our Director, Damien Lee Stirk, with live piano accompaniment.
Key Information:
For ages 18+
General level: Suitable for dancers with at least 2 years of recent ballet training.
The session focuses on foundational technique and does not involve pointe work, making it accessible for all participants.

Celebrating International Women’s Day
Giselle, Revisited returns to the Royal Ballet and Opera in March 2026, offering a reflective and atmospheric repertoire based session inspired by the Wilis of Act II, presented in honour of International Women’s Day.
This immersive workshop invites dancers to explore the poetic depth of Giselle through refined classical movement, musical sensitivity and expressive ensemble work. Rooted in Romantic ballet tradition, the session focuses on breath, fluidity and collective presence, allowing dancers to engage with the emotional resonance and quiet strength that define this iconic act.
Designed for dancers aged 18 and above, the session opens with a classical ballet warm up before progressing into thoughtfully adapted repertoire, shaped to support technical clarity, musical awareness and shared artistry within the group.
Led by Director, Damien Lee Stirk, and accompanied by live piano, the workshop offers a considered and supportive environment in which to explore this celebrated work within the unique setting of Covent Garden.
A portion of each booking will support Women’s Aid, a UK charity providing life changing services, protection and long term empowerment for women and children across the country.
