The Ballet Technical: September Edition
Sunday 20 September 2026
11:30 am - 2:00 pm
Royal Ballet & Opera, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9DD
£75.00
Join us for The Ballet Technical: September Edition, a welcoming opportunity to return to the studio after the summer break, rebuild confidence and prepare for the season ahead within a supportive professional environment.
Held at the Royal Ballet & Opera, this workshop is designed to help adult dancers reconnect with their training through focused technical work and thoughtful progression. Whether returning after a period away from the studio or looking to establish positive momentum for the months ahead, the session offers the perfect opportunity to refine technique, improve fitness and rediscover the enjoyment of classical ballet.
The workshop will begin with a carefully structured barre, allowing dancers to reawaken strength, coordination and musicality while gently rebuilding stamina. Clear guidance and demonstration will encourage dancers to work at their own pace, with emphasis placed on placement, alignment and developing greater confidence through purposeful repetition and attention to detail.
Following a short break, the session will continue into centre practice before progressing into enchaînements that encourage dancers to apply their technical work with increasing fluency and artistry. Throughout the workshop, the emphasis will remain on quality of movement, musical awareness and building confidence within an encouraging and supportive atmosphere.
The session will be led by our Director, Damien Lee Stirk [biography], whose teaching focuses on clarity, encouragement and creating a positive learning environment where dancers feel comfortable to explore and improve.

The Petipa Experience: Adult Autumn Intensive
Sunday 11 October 2026
10:30 am - 3:30 pm
Royal Ballet & Opera, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9DD
£135.00
Following the wonderful response to our Adult Spring Intensive, we're delighted to invite you to The Petipa Experience, a brand new intensive created especially for adult dancers.
Set within the beautiful studios of the Royal Ballet & Opera and accompanied throughout by live piano, this immersive experience celebrates the timeless choreography of Marius Petipa through two rarely taught jewels of the classical repertoire.
The day begins with a classical ballet class to warm the body and prepare for the repertoire ahead. We will then journey beneath the waves to discover the enchanting Waltz of Aspicia from The Pharaoh's Daughter. Set in the ballet's magical underwater kingdom, this graceful variation is filled with flowing movement, expressive port de bras and lyrical musicality.
Following a relaxed lunch break, we'll return to the studio to explore Henriette's Variation from Raymonda. Joyful, elegant and full of classical charm, it offers a beautiful contrast, revealing another side of Petipa's extraordinary choreography.
Together, these two contrasting variations celebrate the richness and versatility of the classical repertoire, inviting dancers to experience two captivating worlds through movement, music and storytelling.
The session will be led by our Director, Damien Lee Stirk [biography], whose teaching focuses on clarity, encouragement and creating a positive learning environment where dancers feel comfortable to explore and improve.
